A taste of Woodstock – in the heart of Europe.
While the hunt for the exact location for the mother of all festival stages is still on in the USA, one is just being built in Karlsruhe. Or more precisely in Weingarten.
At the Woodstock exhibition in Karlsruhe, the idea was conceived to recreate the original Woodstock stage from 1969 on a smaller scale at the city's own festival "Das Fest". With blood, sweat and tears and under the banner of "Love & Peace", the Megaforce team took on this technical challenge and created a replica of an unforgettable stage.
The Hippie Stage 1969 made by Megaforce has a performance area of 10 x 6 metres and a clear height of 6 metres. Each of the two yellow scaffolding towers has a load-bearing capacity of approx. 750 kg and a height of 8.2 meters on the left and right, and the stage floor and the support elements of the roof have a wood look, all conveying the true Woodstock flair. The main feature of the Hippie Stage 1969's extraordinary appearance is the stage roof. The roof hangs from two steel pillars on a structure consisting of steel cables and is so eye-catching mainly because of its combination of wood, metal and the characteristic linen cloth. The free-floating roof also allows it to receive light at the front.
The Megaforce Hippie Stage 1969 is not just a stage – it tells the story of a piece of music history. As part of the event weeks in Karlsruhe, our little gem has already got a taste of the limelight and, thanks to the successful combination of functionality and installation, was welcomed into the hearts of the festive people of Karlsruhe.
Anyone who chooses our Megaforce Hippie Stage 1969 for their project will inspire their viewers, taking them on a journey and, not least, giving them an unforgettable experience.
